Golf Courses

There are a variety of local courses to play while enjoying your stay in the Cape. The century-old Championship Stellenbosch golf course is located 15-minutes from the hotel and hosts an impressive history of the South African Open and Masters tournaments.

Situated next to the Kleine Zalze Winelands course and famous Terroir restaurant, the 18-hole De Zalze golf course designed by Peter Matkovich mixes water features and narrow fairways. Just 20 minutes from the Lanzerac, it offers a challenge for all levels of golfer.

The Lanzerac Wine Estate has a rich legacy stretching back over 300 years. There are 48 rooms available and various packages, including classic, luxury, junior suite and suite options. All rooms include an Espresso machine, flat screen TV, private terrace and lounging area.

Restaurant & Bars

The Lanzerac Hotel provides an extensive selection of gastronomy options. The Lanzerac deli serves continental and hot breakfast options all day and is well known for its cappuccinos and homemade pastries. The Manor Kitchen serves breakfast and dinner options and is one of Stellenbosch’s top A la carte restaurants with a creative flare put into every meal. Lighter options can be enjoyed at the Taphuis restaurant which serves a gourmet pub-style menu.

Spa & Leisure

At the Lanzerac spa there are a range of facilities and treatments to rejuvenate and wind down whilst on your golf break. The Lanzerac Wine Estate is nestled in the Jonkershoek Valley just 5-minutes away from Stellenbosch town. If you wish to visit the vibrant city of Cape Town, it is a 50-minute transfer well worth the visit.

Nearby

The De Warenmarkt market is set in the heart of Stellenbosch where guests can sample local baked goods, meat and craft beer. There is also a wine tasting lounge and oyster bar, providing a great way to spend the day off the course.

The Jonkershoek nature reserve is a 10-minute drive from the hotel and is home to the magnificent Jonkershoek mountains. With hiking trails, swimming and bike riding activities on offer over 11,000 hectares, the reserve is not one to be missed.

The Rupert Museum in Stellenbosch central is a large Cape Dutch-style house that holds a premier collection of over 350 unique pieces of South African art by a multitude of artists.
